We need more Foster Carers - Öpik

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 22nd Nov 2006

Lembit Öpik, MP for Montgomeryshire, today highlighted the need for more Foster Carers.

Speaking after opening the Newtown office of Foster Care Associates Cymru, Lembit said,

"I welcome this new office in Newtown which gives carers in North Powys a local office.

"Foster carers are definitely some of the unsung heroes of today. Unfortunately, there is a national shortage of foster carers - we still need 750 more in Wales alone.

"I would encourage as many people as possible to consider fostering - we are greatly indebted to those who do"

Ends / Diwedd
